About the Author
Don Nutbeam is Pro Vice- Chancellor and Head of the College of Health Sciences at Sydney University. He was formerly head of Public Health in the UK Department of Health.
Elizabeth Harris is Director of the Centre for Health Equity, Training, Research and Evaluation, based at Liverpool Hospital, Sydney and the University of New South Wales.

More of a briefing paper, but a very good one.

It's excellent in providing a succinct, highly readable and simple description of theories of health promotion.
Take note of the number of pages. It is barely a book. Do not expect any deep discussion on the issues.
The authors are British, so the vast majority of the examples and citations are British. Given the large volume of research and publications in the US, this is a detractor.

The nutshell is awfully small.... Wikipedia provides more detail, as does many websites out there. Overpriced.

Unhappy with product

I bought the book Theory in a Nutshell for a graduate class I am taking. When I received the book there were six blank pages. I believe that is an error made by the printers/publishers but the seller should have examined the product before selling it. I am disappointed by this product.
